I’m an avid traveler, often journeying from the US to Europe multiple times a year to visit loved ones. Being a tech enthusiast, I always bring along my iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and other gadgets, all of which require daily charging.
For nearly two years, I’ve relied on the Foval European Plug Adapter to keep all my devices powered up during my European travels. This ingenious power strip boasts an EU wall plug but features three US outlets and multiple USB ports, catering perfectly to international remote workers like myself.
This compact solution has simplified charging on the go, and the best part? It’s priced at around $20, especially when it’s on sale.
This power strip offers four USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and three US plug outlets. With its built-in European plug, it’s ideal for charging your devices anywhere in Europe. Additionally, it includes UK and US adapters for enhanced compatibility.
Almost two years ago, my trusty European power adapter gave out after years of use. In search of a replacement that could charge all my devices simultaneously, feature at least one USB-C port, and fit snugly into my travel backpack, I stumbled upon the Foval European Plug Adapter.
Ahead of a 2022 European trip, a colleague recommended this adapter, citing her positive experiences across various trips to Europe and other European plug-compatible countries.
Although several similar products were available on Amazon, I opted for the Foval-branded adapter due to its extensive positive reviews — boasting over 1,600 at the time — and competitive pricing.
I purchased the adapter for $21 in June 2022, but it’s often available for under $17 during sales.
Priced at around $20 during promotions, the Foval European Plug Adapter is a practical solution for charging devices in Europe.
Featuring three US outlets, a USB-C port, and four USB-A ports, this adapter seamlessly connects to European plugs, effortlessly powering my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhones, Apple Watch, and power banks across multiple countries.
While it may not offer the fastest charging speeds, the USB-A ports deliver 2.4 amps each, while the USB-C port offers 3 amps — perfect for overnight charging of smartphones and batteries in hotel rooms. Additionally, the well-spaced US outlets accommodate larger plugs, such as laptop chargers.
However, it’s essential to note that the Foval European Plug Adapter is not a voltage converter. To prevent damage to your devices, ensure they’re compatible with the voltage range of 100 volts to 250 volts used in Europe.
Furthermore, the adapter includes a built-in 5-foot cable, ideal for navigating awkwardly shaped hotel rooms and hard-to-reach power outlets. Plus, the included Velcro cable tie keeps the cable organized in your backpack.
