West Bend 12 Cup Multi-Function Rice Cooker: The Last Rice Cooker You’ll Ever Need

I’m a foodie, work-from-home mom who can hard-cook long-grain, jasmine, basmati, sushi, and brown rice the right way. Due to my financial capability, I always take my eyes off kitchen appliances that cost $100+ and among those I’ve owned for years, this West Bend 12 Cup Multi-Function Rice Cooker is unrivaled.

I wish I could rate it more than 5 stars for its engineering and being an investment with dividends for years to come because it doesn’t require any function or attention from me other than putting my grains in the cooker, selecting the type of grain from settings, set time, and press the start button. Nothing more!

The beeper goes off at the end of the cooking cycle and the rice is always perfect, day in and day out. The cooker has a smart warming mode that keeps the rice fresh and warm, although I don’t like cooking a big batch of rice that we’d keep coming back to eat from; one-three cups is always more than enough for us.

But when cooking for a large number of people, the smart warmer doubles the cooker as an insulated container where you can serve hot rice for many hours, even when the power cord is retracted. It has a super handy handle that makes it easy to carry the cooker anywhere (with the cord unplugged) and the cooker will still hold its heat for up to 24 hours.

From my firsthand experience, you can cook virtually all types of grain with this cooker as there’s a setting for cooking every type of grain to perfection. I’ve also used it for both short and medium-grain rice. I have even set the cooker to cook rice at bedtime and in the morning, the rice (including avocado, crab, and cut nori) is cooked and tastes delicious.

Cleaning up this appliance is super easy. I’ve never spent more than 3 minutes cleaning the unit. Sometimes I spent about a minute while using hot water and dish detergent. The removable cooking vessel and its lid fast-track the cleanup process.

At $54.99, this rice cooker is still an A+ purchase among other appliances I own. It has not malfunctioned or developed any problems in the past four years. If you’re thinking of getting a rice cooker or replacing your old unit, this West Bend 12 Cup Multi-Function Rice Cooker is the best decision you can make now.
