A Lifesaver for Your Skin Emergency, After Baume Moisturizer by Glossier

Time to add some fun to the skincare game. I mean skincare is never boring and there will always be new things we try. Because skincare is about endless exploration, personal exploration that has to fit what you want and most importantly what you need.

We have different skincare routines but not the basics like moisturizer. Everyone needs a moisturizer. So, I wanted to share with you my go-to moisturizer, After Baume by Glossier. The uniqueness is sure to make you fall in love. 

Let’s start with the packaging, a small green tube with a lilac-colored cap with the iconic Glossier logo. It’s cute and adorable. You can choose the 50 ml or 125 ml size. Whichever one you prefer, honey. This product is called a moisture barrier recovery cream with many unique ingredients, plant-based ingredients like linoleic acid, green microalgae extract to babassu oil. 

I called it unique at the beginning of my post because I was a little surprised by the texture. I thought it would look like a gel but after opening the packaging wow… it’s a thick white cream not a gel at all. The best part is that even though it’s a thick cream, once applied on the skin it melts, disappears, absorbs into the skin without any effort to apply. 

It’s perfect to use at night because the moisture locking power is amazing. I used it at night and the next day when I woke up and wanted to wash my face wow, there was no dryness on my face instead my skin looked and felt like it had just arrived from a trip to heaven. A bit of an exaggeration? But that’s the right reaction for this moisturizer.

Because of the thickness of the cream I also thought it wouldn’t be suitable for use before makeup so I tested it. I put it on as usual and topped it with foundation, my worries were not confirmed. Instead of being oily, heavy and messy, this moisturizer feels more like a primer that locks in and makes the foundation really absorb perfectly. I’m so happy!

I’ve been using it for a few days now and I can personally confirm it’s non-comedogenic, very hydrating, can help during skin emergencies such as dryness, redness and skin fatigue. Although it’s a thick cream, the formula is unique as it feels like a balm upon application. Worth a try because this moisturizer is a puffer jacket for your skin!
