I’ve spent most of my life visiting the coffee shop every other morning, stylishly sipping a good cup of espresso. My kids brought this gift on my 48th birthday, telling me categorically that “Mom, no more coffee shop, here’s what you need to grind your favorite coffee beans.”
I laughed out loud wondering what it could be, so I unwrapped it. OMG, it’s the KRUPS Expert Burr Grinder. I’m so excited because this is my first time owning a burr coffee mill. And without wasting any more time, we quickly unbox it and set it up for first use.
Amazingly, it has a 12-cup capacity which means it can grind enough coffee for an entire family. But if you’re grinding just for yourself, go ahead and use the “selector” to set the number of cups you want to grind. The best part, it will automatically switch off once the desired amount has been ground.
With the impressive 17 different grind settings, you can grind your beans to suit your taste. From extremely fine to extra coarse, the two burrs can be easily adjusted and are effective at crushing any coffee bean exactly how you want it.
You don’t need to clean the machine after every use but when you need to, it must be done appropriately. KRUPS allows you to detach the grinding chamber from the burr so you can clean the gadget with ease. If you grind the same type of coffee beans every day, then you won’t need to clean it often.
So, now to its functionality. I’ve used this grinder to crush a couple of coffee beans – robusta, arabica, liberica, and excelsa. The grinding is exceptionally fast using a one-touch power button. I use the mid-coarse setting for my favorite taste. And for my love for a stronger cup of coffee, I grind 10 cups for my 8-cup coffee maker.
After getting the most out of this grinder, it’s 6 years old now and is still working great. It has not developed any fault nor has it been repaired. And if there’s a better burr coffee grinder out there, it’s still this same KRUPS. So, order now and grind more and better.
